New 2018 Honda HR-V Promises to Live Up to Its Reputation as One of the Most Versatile Vehicles

The engineers at Honda have decided to build upon the HR-V’s success by continuing with the beloved crossover’s current style. In fact, the 2018 model will continue to couple a chic, coupe-like styling with the functionality of an SUV, a combination that has helped give the HR-V the reputation of being one of the most versatile vehicles on the road today.

For 2018, Honda will continue to use its standard six-speed manual transmission, available on LX and EX trims, with 2WD powered by a responsive 1.8-liter four cylinder engine with a peak output of 141 horsepower. For those looking for something different, the new HR-V will also come available with a continuously-variable transmission (CVT) on all models. The stylish and functional HR-V will continue to offer efficiency with EPA fuel economy ratings of 28/34/31* mpg (city/highway/combined) for the CVT-equipped two-wheel drive models and 27/31/29* mpg for models with all-wheel drive. Additionally, the models with a six-speed manual 2WD received a 25/33/28* mpg rating.

One of the new features for 2018 model is a new vibrant color: Aegean Blue Metallic. This color, only available on select trims, will also be accompanied by a new, refreshed wheel design that contains black-painted inserts. This new design is available on EX trims and higher and is sure to enhance the HR-V’s sporty appearance and personality.

Inside the vehicle, Honda has introduced another new feature: the 2nd-row Magic Seat®. This dynamic seating offers HR-V owners four different modes that create multiple seating and cargo configurations. The addition of versatile these seats helps create 100.1 cu.-feet of passenger space as well as 58.8 cu.-ft. of cargo volume (LX FWD) when the second row of seats is folded down. Honda estimates the space inside the SUV rivals the competitors’ midsize SUVs in terms of usable space.
